Sir Geoffrey Boycott
Geoffrey Boycott is a former successful English cricketer who played Test cricket for England from 1964 to 1982.
He was known for his impenetrable defensive technique and ability to occupy the crease for long periods of time.
Boycott accumulated over 8,000 runs in his 108 Test matches, making him one of England’s leading Test run-scorers.
He scored 22 Test centuries, including a highest score of 246 not out. Boycott was the first English player to average over 100 runs in a domestic first-class season, which he achieved in 1971 and 1979.
After retiring from playing, Boycott became a cricket commentator who is known for his outspoken criticism of modern players.
